Preston fans were excited when Izzy Brown signed up over the summer, but he has already suffered a crushing injury blow.
The playmaker arrived on a free transfer from Chelsea after his contract at Stamford Bridge ended, and he seemed so excited to finally have a home.
Having been out on loan numerous times, Brown finally had a permanent club in Preston, and he was bigger up as a player with quality and creativity in the final third.
Brown made his debut against Celtic on Saturday, but is now facing months out of action.
Preston have confirmed that Brown has suffered a torn Achilles, and will now be missing months – likely until around January or February.
Having endured so many injuries in the past, this freak blow is a killer for Brown, and we can all sympathise with the midfielder.
Brown took to Instagram to post an emotional message about his new setback, and players from far and wide flocked to send him supportive messages.
Chelsea duo Reece James and Ben Chilwell both offered their support to Brown, as did AC Milan’s former Blues ace Fikayo Tomori.
Manchester City’s Nathan Ake joined in, as did the likes of Luke Ayling, Adam Armstrong, Ademola Lookman, Axel Tuanzebe and Ryan Bertrand.
