Free agent striker Connor Wickham has completed his move to Preston North End on Monday evening, joining until January.
Wickham first arrived at PNE in August, training with the club before attending the 1-0 home win over Peterborough United.
Wickham then started off North End in a Central League clash against Walsall last week. He had a penalty saved in that game, but that didn’t deter PNE.
The 28-year-old was released by Crystal Palace this summer, and has been desperate to get fixed up with a new club.
Wickham has struggled with injuries in his career and may take some time to get up to speed for the Championship.
Still, Wickham offers PNE another goal threat – one with Premier League experience.
Wickham has now taken to Instagram to react to his move.
The striker offered just six words – ‘time to write the next chapter’ – a positive message as he looks to get going at Deepdale.
Wickham may already know a few players at Deepdale.
Goalkeeper Declan Rudd was in the Norwich City ranks when Wickham came through at Ipswich Town, so the duo may well know each other.
Rudd reacted to the Wickham deal on Instagram too, simply saying ‘love it mate’ as the pair become teammates at PNE.
