Daniel Johnson’s brutally honest reaction to Nottingham Forest defeat

Preston star Daniel Johnson has admitted that he is ‘really, really angry’ after the 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

North End went to the City Ground in search of a third straight win having beaten Luton Town and Bournemouth.

Unfortunately it all unravelled against Forest as goals from Lewis Grabban and Jack Colback had the hosts 2-0 up at the break.

Preston went in search of a goal to haul themselves back into the game but did nothing with tons of possession.

Forest went up the other end and killed it off with one of their few second half chances, with Grabban sealing a 3-0 win.

It’s back to square one for North End who just can’t seem to string results together consistently.

Playmaker Johnson was brought back into the starting XI for Saturday’s game, playing almost as a shadow striker just off Emil Riis.

That’s not really Johnson’s role, and he told the club’s official website after the game that he was ‘disappointed’ and ‘angry’ with the result and performance.

Johnson claims that the manner of Preston’s defeat just isn’t good enough and North End must do better in future to avoid such defeats.

“Disappointed. Angry. It’s not acceptable really. I think in the manner that we lost as well, it’s just not acceptable really,” said Johnson.

“I think we’ve got to do better; we have to do better. Saying that, I think obviously them getting a penalty didn’t really help, but we should have got one, but that’s how it goes. The second goal is kind of a killer really, but saying that Brad [Potts] obviously had an unbelievable chance just before half-time to get us back in to it and that’s football. He misses it, unlucky, and we’ve got to go again. But I think to describe today I’m just really, really angry,” he added.
