A day that Preston North End fans have been waiting for has finally arrived.
The club has parted ways with Frankie McAvoy following the defeat against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
The writing has been on the wall for Alex Neil’s former assistant for a long time now.
There has been a lack of ideas this season and it’s clear that he wasn’t the man to improve the team and lead us anywhere but into League One.
There are plenty of talented players in the squad and it is hoped whoever now takes over will be able to install a better style of play and get more from them.
The fans have voted with their feet recently and the next appointment is crucial to getting them back on side.

Of course fans have also already started speculating as to who the next incumbent of the Preston North End hotseat will be.
We find ourselves in a similar situation as to when Alex Neil was sacked at the start of the year.
Although if anything, the job is now even less of an attractive proposition.
