Ryan Lowe was confirmed as Preston North End manager on Tuesday afternoon. The club moved swiftly to replace Frankie McAvoy and swooped for the Plymouth Argyle boss.
There has been a favourable reaction to the appointment not just from fans but from former players too. Everyone knew the club was headed in the wrong direction lately and it is hoped this appointment can bring the fans back to Deepdale.
After 18 months without any live football, this season hasn’t been an enjoyable one for the North End faithful.
There hasn’t been much to shout about and the squad is clearly better than what the table is showing at the moment.
We’re all hoping this is a new start and a sign of good times returning to Deepdale.
David Buchanan played over 200 games for Bury and spent a season alongside Ryan Lowe there in the 2009-2010 season.
He was part of Preston’s League One play-off winning side in 2015, making turning out 89 times for North End.

Buchanan has been very complimentary of both Lowe and Preston North End, talking about the great history of the club.
