Former Preston North End captain Callum Davidson could make a move to England having been targeted by Bristol Rovers.
It’s a strange quirk that both Bristol City and Bristol Rovers are in the hunt for new managers right now.
The Robins have parted ways with Nigel Pearson and are now looking for a replacement at Ashton Gate.
That decision came just three days after Bristol Rovers decided to sack Joey Barton following a disappointing start to the season.
A number of managers will be firing CV’s to both Bristol clubs, and one former PNE captain could make the move…

Ex-PNE skipper Callum Davidson could become next Bristol Rovers manager
Bristol Live reporter Dan Hargraves reports that Bristol Rovers have now held ‘initial talks’ over a move to land Callum Davidson.
Davidson left his position as St Johnstone boss back in April and could now return to management with Rovers.
The Scot spent seven years of his playing career with PNE, racking up more than 150 appearances for the club.
Signed from Leicester City in 2004, Davidson went on to become a North End favourite and became club captain back in 2009, following Paul McKenna’s departure.
Davidson was even linked with a PNE return in 2021, with reports in Scotland suggesting that he was on the shortlist to replace Frankie McAvoy.
North End went for Ryan Lowe instead, despite Davidson initially working wonders at St Johnstone.
Davidson won a domestic cup double in 2021, guiding St Johnstone into Europe against all odds.
That side started to break up though, with the big exit coming when PNE pounced to sign midfielder Ali McCann.
Davidson couldn’t continue St Johnstone’s success and lost his job earlier this year.
Now in contention for an England return, we could see Davidson land the Bristol Rovers job, where he would be managing former PNE ace Scott Sinclair.
