Preston North End have already got plenty of transfer business done this summer.

our signings have come through the door, with Liam Lindsay and Sepp van den Berg returning after spells with the club last season. Izzy Brown and Matthew Olusunde have also joined on permanent deals.

Whilst a striker remains a priority, the club are also looking at tying another player down at the other end of the pitch.

Daniel Iversen was one of North End’s best players last season despite only joining in January. The Leicester City goalkeeper turned in a number of impressive displays and the club want him back to compete with a fit again Declan Rudd.

Speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire, Preston manager McAvoy spoke about the recent signings and that he hopes to have Daniel Iversen on board at some point.

“We’re in a good position with Daniel, and we hope to bring him back, but there’s work still to be done. It obviously depends on how the Leicester boys go in terms of goalkeeping, but I’m hopeful we can get something done with that one,” said McAvoy.

It is thought Leicester wanted Iversen to stick around for the first few weeks of pre-season as Kasper Schmeichel is still at Euro 2020 with Denmark and could be a potential opponent for England in the semi-finals.

Danny Ward was also at the tournament with Wales, and will have time off before heading back to training.

It seems Frankie McAvoy’s targets are coming to fruition and it’s always good to get them across the line this early into the transfer window.
