Aleksandar Mitrovic has been on fire for Fulham this season. He’s on track to break all scoring records in the Championship.
He’s already found the net 21 times in 18 league games. It’s a goal every 74 minutes and he will be causing havoc for Preston North End defenders on Saturday.
That is if he plays.
He missed the game against Derby County on Wednesday with illness and The Cottagers couldn’t manage a goal in a 0-0 draw.
In his press conference ahead of the weekend, Marco Silva has revealed a lot of the squad are suffering with the illness which isn’t COVID-19 related. Club captain Tom Cairney also missed the game in midweek.
Harry Wilson, Harrison Reed, Antonee Robinson and Bobby De Cordova-Reid all played the match but had been suffering beforehand and Silva confirmed they were worse off after that 90 minutes.
They’re all good, key players for Fulham and will be big misses for them. But having said that they still have a decent Premier League squad left over from their two relegations in recent seasons.
It seems like late checks will be made on all the affected players but if Mitrovic ends up missing out it will be a huge bonus for North End. He only needs 12 goals to break the Championship record for most goals in a season, and we’re still in November.
He’s also found the net plenty of times before against Preston for both Fulham and Newcastle United. Have this weekend off please Mitro, and concentrate on getting better!
