The rumour that initially seemed too bizarre to be true has now come off – Ben Davies is a Liverpool player.
Speculation broke on Sunday evening suggesting that Liverpool were plotting a late move for Davies, and the story moved rapidly.
A fee was agreed, a medical was scheduled, and Davies finalised his move to Anfield earlier today, with the deal now confirmed.

The 25-year-old has signed a long-term contract with Liverpool, and has now made his dream move to Anfield – which few could have predicted.
Liverpool have confirmed the move, with Davies admitting that this is a huge opportunity for him, and he admitted he was surprised by the interest.
With Davies out of contract in the summer, Liverpool have struck an absolute bargain for the centre back – and boy does he deserve it.

Davies has been ready for a Premier League deal for some time now, bossing the Championship with outstanding performances throughout Alex Neil’s time at the club.
With the move confirmed, Preston defender Joe Rafferty – formerly of Liverpool himself and a boyhood Red – has taken to Twitter to react.
Rafferty has admitted that it has been a complete pleasure to play with Davies at Preston, marvelling at ‘what a signing’ Davies is whilst admitting he can’t wait to see him pull on the red shirt.
