Preston are pushing to sign St Johnstone midfielder Ali McCann tonight, and now have Cardiff City winger Josh Murphy coming in too.
A £1million deal for McCann is close to completion, bolstering Frankie McAvoy’s options with a player he absolutely loves.
Preston have been seeking more options in the final third too, and whilst this isn’t a striker signing, it does help North End going forward.
The Sun’s Phil Cadden has taken to Twitter to claim that Preston are on the verge of signing Cardiff City winger Josh Murphy tonight.
Murphy, 26, came through the ranks with Norwich and was coached by McAvoy during their time together at Carrow Road.
The wide man impressed in the 2017-18 season under Daniel Farke, and then joined Cardiff for a huge £11million fee.

Murphy hasn’t always been a regular starter for Cardiff, but did notch two goals and six assists for the Bluebirds last season.
Primarily a left-sided winger, it will be interesting to see just where Murphy fits into McAvoy’s side given that he has been favouring a 3-4-1-2 lately.
Murphy scored against Preston for Cardiff back in February, and now looks set to join on loan for the season.
