Preston returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, beating Huddersfield Town 3-0 at Deepdale.
North End have been patchy in 2021, which is understandably given the huge changes the squad have gone through since the turn of the year.
It all came together on Saturday though, starting with Brad Potts firing Preston ahead following a strong start from the Terriers.
Potts then teed up Ched Evans to make it 2-0, before Scott Sinclair rounded off the scoring with number three.
Sinclair’s goal was arguably the big highlight of the game, given that he finished off a sweeping counter-attack.
Preston cleared a long ball into the box, and Evans had dropped into a deep role, pinging a pass to Tom Barkhuizen with the outside of his right foot.
Barkhuizen raced clear and matched Evans by finding Sinclair with the outside of his right foot, with Sinclair smashing into the back of the net.
It was Alex Neil’s Preston at their devastating best, showing speed, incision and a clinical edge on the break to kill off any lingering Huddersfield hopes.
Pundit and ex-Preston man Kevin Kilbane took to Twitter to marvel at what an amazing goal it was, with few better team goals scored over the weekend.
