Liverpool beat Chelsea to win the Carabao Cup final on Sunday evening, with Preston boss Ryan Lowe right there to celebrate the victory.
North End drew 1-1 with Coventry City on Saturday afternoon, with a last-gasp Fabio Tavares goal robbing Preston of victory.
Liverpool-mad Lowe then made the trip down to London to go and watch his beloved Reds in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
Lowe saw an enthralling 120 minutes of action at Wembley Stadium, with neither side quite able to find the net – legitimately anyway.
There were four disallowed goals during the game as well as a host of missed chances, meaning the game went to penalties.
Once again, the teams couldn’t be split. 21 perfect penalties were taken before Kepa Arrizabalaga – brought on by Chelsea to try and win the shootout – blazed over the bar.
That sparked wild celebrations behind the goal as Liverpool celebrate yet another trophy win under Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp went up to lift the trophy alongside his players, and Sky Sports coverage showed that one of those to congratulate the Liverpool boss was Lowe.
The pair shook hands as Klopp advanced down the line to the trophy, with Lowe no doubt buzzing with the win and congratulating Klopp!
Liverpool fans adore the German no matter what their job is, with Lowe hardly going to shy away even if he’s a manager himself.
Klopp has previously been complimentary of Lowe’s style of football, and no doubt likes having Sepp van den Berg playing under Lowe at Preston.
After a great day for Lowe and Liverpool, the focus will now be back on Preston and next weekend’s clash with Bournemouth.
