Preston handed Anthony Gordon a first start in Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Rotherham United, and he was one of very few positives.
The 19-year-old joined North End on loan from Everton on deadline day last week, and was thrown straight into the starting XI.
Gordon was bright and dangerous in the first half, carving out some promising openings before eventually fading out of the game.

Preston fans raved about Gordon, suggesting that he already looks to be too good for North End having caused major problems.
Alex Neil has admitted that he needs to see Gordon improve his decision making and end product going forward, but he has surely done enough to earn another start against Blackburn Rovers on Friday.

Everton fans will be interested in how Gordon is faring, but one Liverpool player is paying close attention to the winger too.

Reds defender Rhys Williams is a boyhood North End fan having been born in Preston, and has never hidden his love for the club on social media.
He has now chimed in on Gordon’s display, messaging the Preston loanee on Instagram to stay ‘played class bro’, with the Liverpool talent clearly paying close attention to North End’s fortunes.
