Preston have received a boost this week as striker Louis Moult was spotted back in first-team training on Monday.
Moult took to Twitter to admit that he is ‘buzzing’ to be back in first-team training at North End’s Euxton training base.
Moult added that he is ‘always believing’ having endured an absolute nightmare over the last 18 months.
How did Moult get injured?
Preston were taking on Swansea City in August 2019, and Moult stretched to try and control a ball, suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in the process.
Such an injury tends to take up to nine months or even a year to recover from, but Moult has suffered a number of setbacks along the way and hasn’t played since.
Moult is now heading towards two years out of action, with that one moment at the Liberty Stadium changing the course of his Preston career.

Will Moult earn another contract?
The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and it’s sadly hard to see him earning an extension at Deepdale.
Moult’s injury record makes him a real risk when it comes to handing out another deal, and as he approaches 29 with so much time on the sidelines, the end may be nigh.
That’s a real disappointment as Moult is a popular and hard-working player who has come up with big goals in the past, but that injury has ravaged him.
If Moult ends up as a free agent this summer, Wrexham fans would certainly love him to return to North Wales.
