Preston have secured the signing of goalkeeper Daniel Iversen – and he has now taken Paul Gallagher’s old number.
North End have spent most of the summer waiting for Iversen to make his return, but Leicester City have had to keep hold of him.
With Kasper Schmeichel and Danny Ward away at Euro 2020, Leicester had to use Iversen as their goalkeeper in pre-season.

Both Schmeichel and Ward are back now though, and Iversen has now completed a loan return to North End until next summer.
Iversen wore number 22 in his first spell at Preston, but that has now been taken by new signing Matthew Olosunde.
The Dane has now taken number 12 in his second spell at the club, meaning he has inherited Paul Gallagher’s jersey at Deepdale.
Gallagher retired this summer, meaning his number 12 shirt was available – and it hasn’t taken long for his shirt to be passed on.
It’s a big shirt to take for Iversen, as Gallagher has been one of the modern day icons at Preston.
Many will even remember the time Gallagher went in goal against Ipswich Town in 2018, producing a fine goalkeeping performance.
Gallagher has now taken to Twitter to send a message to Iversen, stating ‘no pressure Big Dan’ as Iversen prepares to wear number 12 at Preston – possibly against Hull City this weekend.
