Everton star Seamus Coleman is texting Preston North End loanee Tom Cannon on a regular basis as he shines at Deepdale.

PNE are making a habit of impressive striker loan signings in the January window.

Cameron Archer captured the hearts of North End fans after joining on loan from Aston Villa in January 2022.

Now it’s Cannon impressing in the famous Lilywhite shirt having arrived from Everton in January.

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Cannon took a little while to find his first PNE goal but has scored three times in his last six PNE outings.

Goals against Wigan Athletic, Cardiff City and Rotherham United have seen Cannon become a fan favourite at Deepdale.

Cannon’s form has even seen him earn a first call-up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad in this international break.

Cannon started against Iceland on Sunday and continued his great, slotting him Ireland’s first goal in a 2-1 win.

Everton fans should be excited by Cannon’s outstanding form and some may wonder if he could have made an impact for the Toffees.

It’s maybe a little early for Cannon to be playing in the Premier League right now but the potential is clear to see.

Everton hero and Ireland international Seamus Coleman seems to have taken a real liking to Cannon.

The PNE loanee has told The Irish Independent that Coleman has been texting him after North End games.

Coleman is always offering encouragement and praise to Cannon, taking the time to offer support to one of Everton’s prospects.

“Séamus is always the first with the arm around the shoulder. He always comes over and makes sure you’re alright. Since I’ve been away with Preston, he’s been dropping me texts after games and saying I’m playing well and to keep going, which is always nice,” Cannon added.

PNE will surely hope to take Cannon on loan for the whole of next season but if he keeps scoring goals, other clubs will end up being interested too – just as they were in Archer too.
