Preston North End return to action tonight, hosting Middlesbrough at Deepdale as Alex Neil seeks to end the home woes.
Neil’s side have won just one league game at home this season, and only drew 2-2 at home with Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
We’ve been vocal with our support for Neil, but some sections of the fanbase are staring to lose faith in the Scot.

Missing out on the playoffs last season was a blow, and losing so many home games this term has seen him lose some support.
What’s interesting is that Celtic podcast A Celtic State of Mind have talked up interest in Neil from the Bhoys.

Host Paul John Dykes claimed that the podcast have heard that the Celtic board fancy Neil, amid fears of Neil Lennon’s future.
Lennon is under huge pressure at Celtic, and whilst the club have publicly backed him, Neil could be a contender if they do make a change.

“Now, if we were to do that [appoint Jack Ross], obviously we’re going for somebody who is employed. We’ve heard of rumblings and grumblings at ACSOM Towers that Alex Neil – in a similar position [and] employed elsewhere, is someone that the board fancied,” said Dykes.
This isn’t a huge surprise; Celtic wanted Neil as a replacement for Brendan Rodgers in 2019 according to The Daily Mail, and whilst they went for Lennon, they may have retained their interest.
Neil has done a great job with Preston, no matter what his critics my say, and it may be hard for him to turn down a club as big as Celtic if they do come calling – though for now, it’s just chatter north of the border rather than anything concrete.
