Alvaro Fernandez impressed for Preston on Wednesday night as he earned praise from Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman.
North End hosted West Bromwich Albion in a game that both sides really needed to win.
West Brom boss Steve Bruce is under pressure after a difficult start to the season whilst Preston fans just wanted to see goals.
West Brom struggle in the early stages of games and Preston went for them straight away, unsurprisingly claiming an early lead through Emil Riis.
Riis ghosted into the area to fire home a pinpoint Fernandez cross, making no mistake from close range.

North End were made to defend for most of the second half but dug in deep to keep West Brom at bay.
Sky Sports named left wing back Fernandez as their man of the match having turned in a strong performance for North End.
Fernandez was positive going forward even after his outstanding assist and earned praise from Goodman.
Goodman told Sky Sports (75 mins) that he felt Fernandez was ‘brilliant’ up the left flank and did a great job of shackling West Brom star Jed Wallace.
“He’s been brilliant, I’ve been really impressed with both with and without the ball,” said Goodman.
Goodman then named Fernandez as man of the match, continuing to praise the Spaniard.
Fernandez racked up two key passes, two interceptions, three clearances, one tackle and one aerial duel won in a fine all-round performance.
The Manchester United loanee has shown huge promise whenever he has been fit to play for North End and he appears to have nailed down that left wing back spot.
Robbie Brady has moved into midfield to accommodate Fernandez and we can’t see that changing any time soon.
The Red Devils should be delighted with Fernandez’s progress at North End and Wednesday’s performance showed what a talent Fernandez can be both going forward and defensively.
