Cameron Archer bagged the winner for Preston against Blackpool on Tuesday night – and he earned major praise from pundit Clinton Morrison.
Archer has been a sensation ever since joining Preston on loan from Aston Villa back in the January transfer window.
Forget the goals against West Brom, Hull, Peterborough, Reading and Bournemouth for a second though; Archer’s goal on Tuesday night was by far the most important.
Drilling a left-footed strike beyond Chris Maxwell, Archer secured a massive 1-0 win over bitter rivals Blackpool.
That goal just means so much to Preston fans, and Archer was all too happy to go and celebrate in front of the Blackpool fans, shushing them in the process.
That’s six goals in 14 games for Archer in a Preston shirt now, and Tuesday’s goal makes him a North End hero for life.
Hopefully parent club Villa allow Archer to stay at Preston for another season; maybe Ryan Lowe’s relationship with Steven Gerrard can help with that.
For now, we just have to enjoy Archer whilst he is here – and he is earning huge praise.
Pundit Morrison spoke to Sky Sports before kick off and raved about what he’s seen from Archer since joining Preston.
Morrison admitted that Archer has really excited him before noting just how long Lowe has been trying to sign the young striker.

Morrison praised Archer as a ‘brilliant’ signing for Preston before sharing a snippet from the North End coaching staff.
Archer allegedly still stays behind after training to clean his own boots, something Morrison was told by Preston staff and absolutely loves.
“He excites me, he excites me massively,” said Morrison. “I had a phone call with Ryan Lowe and he’s been telling me he’s been trying to get him for ages from Steven Gerrard, eventually Gerrard let him go.”
“I think it’s been a brilliant signing for Preston. One thing I do like, when I was speaking to their coaching staff, he still comes in after training and cleans his own boots – what a brilliant professional he is!” he added.
