Preston fans will remember striker Lukas Nmecha – and he has now become a Champions League match-winner with German side Wolfsburg.
North End took Nmecha on loan from Manchester City in 2018 in what appeared to be a huge coup.
Nmecha was highly rated at City and many backed him to be a regular goalscorer at Championship level.
It didn’t really happen for Nmecha at Preston though. He found it tough playing up front on his own under Alex Neil and would often play out wide instead.
Nmecha managed three goals and eight assists for Preston, leaving fans divided during his time at Deepdale.
After disappointing spells at Wolfsburg and Middlesbrough, City loaned Nmecha to Anderlecht – and his career has taken off.
With 21 goals last season, Nmecha earned a permanent return to Wolfsburg – a far cry from life at Preston.

Last night, Nmecha scored his fifth goal in 14 outings for Wolfsburg.
Featuring for Wolfsburg in the Champions League against Red Bull Salzburg, Nmecha smashed in a superb winner.
The 22-year-old is proven many Preston fans wrong by becoming a star in Germany, and we’re likely to see more Champions League goals from him moving forward.
