Preston North End will meet with Patrick Bauer’s agent in October as they chase a new contract for him as well as Andrew Hughes and Tom Barkhuizen.
That’s according to the Lancashire Evening Post, who claim that PNE are looking to secure three more new deals for current players.
Jordan Storey and Brad Potts signed new contracts earlier this month, with more now to come – hopefully at least.
Bauer agent to fly in for PNE talks next month
The report claims that Bauer’s agent is set to fly over to England in October to hold talks.
The hope is that PNE will be able to close the deal there and then with Bauer inside the final year of his contract.
Bauer has been outstanding this season, proving to be a rock in the middle of PNE’s back line.
The way Bauer has bounced back from a major Achilles injury is amazing, and he has surely earned improved terms at Deepdale.

Hughes and Barkhuizen also wanted
An extended stay for Bauer is wanted alongside defender Hughes and attacker Barkhuizen.
Both players are out of contract next summer and could leave for nothing.
Hughes has impressed as a left-sided centre back this season, playing arguably his best football for PNE since joining in 2018.
Barkhuizen has been out for almost two months due to COVID-19 complications, but remains a dangerous and versatile option.
There is no news on Scott Sinclair though, with the winger looking set to leave PNE in 2022.
