Preston North End talent scores free kick for new loan club just hours after signing

Preston North End talent Jack Baxter sign on loan for Radcliffe on Friday – and he has already opened his goalscoring account for the club.

Baxter has risen through the PNE ranks having first joined North End at Under-9 level.

Alex Neil put Baxter on the bench a couple of times in the 2017-18 season, but the midfielder is still waiting for his first PNE start.

After a decent loan spell at Cork City, bagging two goals and one assist in 10 games, Baxter has gone off on loan again.

Non-league Radcliffe have taken Baxter on loan for just a month. Today, the 20-year-old made his debut against Buxton.

Just after half time, Baxter buried a free kick with Radcliffe 2-0 down. His goal gave them hope, and Radcliffe did find a leveller with 10 minutes to play.

Sadly, Baxter ended up on the losing side as Radcliffe lost at the death, falling to a 3-2 defeat.

Baxter may need to ultimately play at a higher level than the Northern Premier League in order to catch PNE’s attention.

Rising into the first team looks difficult for the Chorley-born ace seems unlikely any time soon, but he has at least made a great start with Radcliffe.
