Josh Murphy left Preston North End earlier this year and now appears to be finding his form again with Oxford United.
PNE were busy on deadline day back in the summer of 2021, securing two new signing for Frankie McAvoy.
North End splashed the cash on midfielder Ali McCann as he arrived from St Johnstone.
There was also a loan addition as Josh Murphy arrived from Cardiff City for the full season.
7 Footballers Who Are BETTER Than Their Fathers
Murphy had worked under McAvoy at Norwich City and a reunion seemed to be a perfect move.
We absolutely loved it – a proven Championship winger who could make an immediate impact before his Cardiff contract expired, opening the door for a permanent move.
Sadly, we were wrong as Murphy endured a very difficult season at Deepdale.
Murphy failed to start a single game for PNE and recorded just 190 minutes of game time across 12 substitute appearances.
The move just didn’t work out and Murphy’s loan was terminated early with Ryan Lowe unimpressed.
Cardiff then released Murphy, leaving him on the scrapheap just four years after a £10million move to South Wales.
Oxford United took a chance on Murphy, handing him a two-year deal to try and get the winger back on track.
Truth be told, it’s been a mixed bag so far. Murphy has only made nine appearances for Oxford, totalling 261 minutes.

Murphy had his best game for Oxford last week, setting up another former PNE winger in Billy Bodin to score against Charlton Athletic.
Oxford boss Karl Robinson appears to be a huge fan and has told the Oxford Mail that he thinks Murphy is the best player in League One – when he’s fit.
That has been a problem for Murphy this season but the hope is that he can now kick on after that display against Charlton to live up to Robinson’s praise.
That praise is huge given the amount of talent in League One and Murphy will hope to prove that his manager isn’t going too far with his comments.
