Preston North End are allegedly in talks to sign Josh Onomah with the midfielder set to leave Fulham on a free transfer.
That’s according to Football Insider, who claim that PNE are now in ‘advanced talks’ to secure Onomah’s signature.
It’s stated that Onomah and Fulham have mutually agreed to rip up the final six months of his contract at Craven Cottage.
Onomah was set to be out of contract in the summer anyway, so this just gives Onomah the chance of a fresh start.
The Bizarre Rise & Fall Of The Chinese Super League
The report claims that PNE are ‘increasingly confident’ of securing a deal to sign Onomah for absolutely nothing.
Rangers were reportedly keen and there has been prior interest from West Bromwich Albion, but PNE are seemingly pushing to secure a deal.

Who is reported PNE target Josh Onomah?
Onomah was born in Enfield and came up through the Tottenham Hotspur ranks.
The attacking midfielder was tipped as something of a wonderkid and Mauricio Pochettino called him a ‘special player’ at just 18.
Onomah just couldn’t break through at Tottenham though and played just 13 times for Spurs in the Premier League.
Loan spells at Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday didn’t take Onomah any closer to the Spurs first team and he was offloaded in 2019.
Onomah moved on to Fulham as part of a deal for Ryan Sessegnon, and has now turned out 76 times for the Cottagers.
Five goals and eight assists isn’t the worst record and Onomah now just needs a move on to try and get his career back on track.
Onomah has fallen down the pecking order under Marco Silva and has played just 14 minutes of Premier League action this season across two substitute appearances.
Still only 25, there is untapped potential in Onomah and with PNE needing some guile and creativity in the final third, a deal would make some sense.
