Preston North End boss Ryan Lowe has joked that he would like to take Liverpool talent Stefan Bajcetic on loan this summer.
Maybe we should get used to links to Liverpool talents.
Sepp van den Berg was so good in 18 months on loan at PNE that maybe North End will have good relations with Liverpool now.
There have been links to right wing back Conor Bradley this season but he is set to stay on loan at Bolton Wanderers.
Liverpool prospect Bobby Clark has also been linked with Liverpool but that deal won’t be happening this month.
Given that PNE boss Lowe is a huge Liverpool, fans may expect the North End chief to have a decent knowledge of Reds prospects.
Lowe was even spotted watching Liverpool’s Under-21’s against Paris Saint-Germain last week, so he will know plenty.
Lowe watched Liverpool against Wolves in the FA Cup on Tuesday night with his beloved Reds claiming a 1-0 win at Molineux.
Brought in by BBC Radio Five Live for punditry work, Lowe pointed out that he was very impressed with Liverpool talent Stefan Bajcetic.
The 18-year-old was outstanding in front of the Liverpool back four and Lowe called his performance ‘fantastic’.
Lowe joked that he wouldn’t explain just why he loved Bajcetic’s display because he was hoping to bring Bajcetic to PNE.

Lowe did though hail his awareness and his ability to intercept the ball, backing him for a ‘bright, bright future’ at Liverpool.
“I’m not going to tell you because I wouldn’t mind taking him on loan next season!” joked Lowe. “So, I’m going to keep it on the q.t. But, you know what I like about him, as a midfielder he doesn’t get himself tagged with anyone. You look at the players in the Premier League and some of the Wolves players tonight, they are bigger and stronger physical presences, but he doesn’t get himself tagged with it.”
“His awareness when the ball comes to him – I always say to my midfielders to always check your shoulder and be scanning – he knows the pass before it comes to him and listen, he’s playing with one of the best midfielders in the world, in Thiago also in there. He’s getting that experience, but I just thought his passages of play, the way he moved the ball, on the front foot at times, interceptions, I thought the kid was fantastic and he’s got a bright, bright future at Liverpool,” he added.
Sadly, Bajcetic is unlikely to playing in a PNE shirt any time soon.
The Spanish talent has been impressing in his limited first-team chances this season and some are calling for him to become a Premier League regular.
Lowe will be able to see plenty of Bajcetic for his boyhood club but he will know that a move to North End won’t be in the pipeline.
