Preston North End defender Matthew Olosunde has endured yet another injury setback as he waits for his competitive debut.
Olosunde’s contract at Rotherham United expired in June and Preston swooped in to give him a two-year deal.
The American international produced lung-busting run forward to help Rotherham score a late winner against North End last year, showing the kind of pace and attacking play he can bring to Preston.
Sadly, we’re yet to see it.
Olosunde picked up an injury after playing 45 minutes against St Johnstone in pre-season. Remarkably, he hasn’t played a senior game since.
Olosunde did play in a reserve game earlier this week, but has now suffered another problem.
Frankie McAvoy has confirmed that Olosunde suffered a hamstring injury against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.

The plan was for Olosunde to be on the bench against Liverpool on Wednesday, but this new injury kept him out.
McAvoy claims Olosunde will only be out for another week, but without sounding harsh, we’ve heard it all before.
Whenever Olosunde can play, he should be a welcome addition to the Preston side, but who knows when that will be after this setback.
