Preston boss Ryan Lowe has opened up on his conversation with Steven Gerrard before taking the North End job.
Lowe decided to trade Plymouth Argyle for Preston earlier this month, replacing Frankie McAvoy as North End boss.
Lowe won his first game in charge of North End, beating Barnsley 2-1 at Deepdale.
Sadly, last weekend’s postponed game against Millwall means Lowe hasn’t been able to build momentum.
Lowe has now been speaking to BBC Radio Merseyside, talking about his move to Deepdale.
One of the most interesting lines came when talking about Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
We have mentioned previously that Lowe and Gerrard are close friends. From pre-season friendlies to transfers, Lowe and Gerrard have struck agreements in their careers.
Lowe has admitted that he asked Gerrard for his thoughts on the move to Preston.

Gerrard told Lowe that leaving Plymouth for Preston was a ‘no-brainer’ and wondered why Lowe was even asking for advice.
Lowe did feel an emotional pull to Plymouth though, just as Gerrard did to Rangers as both men embark on new jobs.
“When the call came [from Preston], I rang him and said ‘look, what do you think?’, he said ‘what are you ringing me for, it’s a no-brainer isn’t it?’
“I was like ‘yeah but the love and affection you have for a club sticks with you’, that’s what I had at the time at Plymouth Argyle, he had the same Rangers,” said Lowe.
