Preston North End will likely have defender Liam Lindsay back available to face his former club Stoke City on Tuesday night.
PNE are back at Deepdale on Tuesday night, hosting Stoke City after Saturday’s 0-0 draw away at Birmingham City.
Frankie McAvoy’s squad is being bolstered by a number of players returning from injury, and Lindsay is set to return too.
Lindsay back against Stoke
Lindsay picked up a knock against Cheltenham Town last week, and subsequently missed the trip to Birmingham.
The Scot’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared though, and McAvoy has today admitted that Lindsay is ‘ready’ to face Stoke.
This means Lindsay does have a chance to play agains the Potters, having been prevented back in April.
Lindsay was on loan from Stoke at the time, and was subsequently blocked from facing his parent club.
Lindsay turned his move permanent over the summer, meaning he is now free to face off against Michael O’Neill’s side.

The centre back sat in the shadows for a year at Stoke, with O’Neill clearly not a huge fan.
It’s unlikely that Lindsay will start given Patrick Bauer’s form, but he is at least available to play against his former club.
