Preston drew 0-0 with Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, with Ryan Lowe paying tribute to ‘warrior’ Liam Lindsay.
North End were looking for a better result after losing 3-2 to Reading on Saturday afternoon – a team who hadn’t won since November.
Taking on promotion-chasing Forest seemed like a tricky game, but Preston were actually the better side for most of the game.
Preston managed 15 shots to Forest’s seven, completed more passes and racked up 11 corners but just couldn’t find the crucial game.
A 0-0 draw is at least a return to defensive solidity for Preston, and defender Lindsay deserves major praise.
The Scot was derided by fans earlier this season having looked shaky under Frankie McAvoy.
Lindsay’s only appearance under Ryan Lowe came against Millwall earlier this month, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw.
Lindsay was given another chance against Forest and again helped Preston keep a clean sheet. Two from two ain’t bad.

The summer signing from Stoke City looked composed on the ball and more confident defensively than we saw earlier in the season.
We have wondered whether Lindsay has the pace to play as a left-sided centre back, but he performed well there against Forest.
It seems that Lindsay is finding his best form again, and Lowe has praised the centre back.
Lowe has praised Lindsay as a ‘warrior’, claiming that he has been a credit to himself and North End for his application even when not featuring in the first team.
