Plymouth Argyle captain Joe Edwards has spoken out on Ryan Lowe’s exit to Preston North End for the first time with an emotional message.
Argyle were left rocked on Tuesday as Lowe decided to leave the club in favour of a move to Preston.
Lowe will manage his first game as Preston boss against Barnsley on Saturday, but will do it without assistant Steven Schumacher.
Schumacher has decided to become Plymouth boss instead of following Lowe to Preston.
The general feeling down in Plymouth is that Lowe has turned his back on Argyle despite building something special.
Many fans are angry with Lowe for his move, even though it makes sense for him and his family in the North West.
Plymouth captain Joe Edwards has now spoken up about Lowe’s exit for the first time.

If anybody was expecting anger or thinly-veiled barbs, they will have been left disappointed.
Edwards thanked Lowe for bringing him to Plymouth in the first place. Lowe snapped Edwards up from Walsall in 2019 and made him Argyle captain.
Edwards also thanked Lowe for giving him the armband, claiming to have loved their time together before wishing Lowe all the best at Preston – something that few around Argyle can echo at the moment.
