Preston are in the market for new signings this summer, and are reportedly nearing two new additions.

Liam Lindsay has returned from Stoke City on a permanent basis, whilst Daniel Iversen and Sepp van den Berg are expected to come back on loan too.

The Lancashire Post now claim that Preston also have two free signings lined up, with a defender and a more attacking player expected.

Who is the defender Preston could sign?

We understand Sheffield Wednesday defender Osaze Urhoghide is a target for Preston, but that deal would require some compensation – so not exactly a Bosman deal.

The favourite would have to be right back Matthew Olosunde, who has left Rotherham United having rejected a new deal.

The Lancashire Post reported talks with Olosunde last week, with the American available to solve Preston’s problem position for absolutely nothing.

Who is the attacking player Preston could sign?

You would have to think that Izzy Brown is the player in question here, with Lancs Live reporting interest in Brown last week.

Released by Chelsea, Brown is predominantly a playmaker who can also play out wide, and is looking to get his career back on track after an injury-hit few years.

The likes of Jack Marriott, Joe Pigott and Randell Williams are also available for free, and could make sense for North End, but we’re backing Brown here.
