Preston ended the campaign with a victory, beating Nottingham Forest 2-1 at the City Ground.
North End fell behind to a stunning James Garner strike, but roared back in the second half as Tom Bayliss scored his first Preston goal.
Loanee Liam Lindsay won it for Preston with a fine header, meaning North End finish up the campaign with four wins in a row.

Fans have been delighted that Bayliss was given a chance to shine, making just his second Championship start since joining from Coventry City in August 2019.
The 22-year-old has bizarrely been overlooked for more than 18 months, and Saturday’s goal was special for Bayliss for a couple of reasons.
Yes, he finally opened his North End account, even if the ball seemed to hit him and go in, and he also got to score against a personal rival.

The LEP’s Dave Seddon noted that Bayliss is a boyhood Derby fan, so he would have absolutely loved scoring against their bitter enemies Forest.
Add in that Derby stayed up in dramatic fashion on the final day of the season, and Bayliss had quite the final day of the season.
Let’s hope he can finally kick on next term and become the player North End thought they had landed in 2019.
