Preston North End defender Matthew Olosunde faces a scan on the injury he picked up against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
With Tom Barkhuizen and Sepp van den Berg both out of the trip to Ewood Park, Olosunde was brought in for a start.
The American joined Preston from Rotherham United over the summer but has endured a nightmare with injuries.
After featuring in a pre-season friendly against St Johnstone, Olosunde hadn’t been seen a first-team game since.
To throw Olosunde straight in against Rovers may have been a gamble, but he had to play at some point.
Olosunde equipped himself pretty well but then went down with a late injury as the effects of a first start took their toll on him.
Frankie McAvoy has now admitted that Olosunde needs a scan after overstitching his groin against Blackburn.

As quoted by Lancs Live, McAvoy felt that Olosunde did ‘extremely well’ against Rovers but could now be out injured again.
This would be a nightmare for Preston, who have been waiting for Olosunde to get fit for months now.
Let’s hope it’s nothing serious and that Olosunde can really kick on over the festive period, with the right back still waiting for lift-off at Deepdale.
