International deadline day is upon us, and Preston are expected to have a pretty quiet day both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

North End snapped up Emil Riis on Thursday, luring the Danish striker from Randers in a deal worth around £1.2million.

Riis made his debut as a substitute against Brentford on Sunday, and looks likely to be Preston’s only signing of the summer.

That may be frustrating for some, but landing a striker was the main priority, and the rest of the squad looks to be in pretty good shape – for now at least.

The big concern at Preston surrounds contract situations, as Ben Davies, Ben Pearson, Alan Browne and Daniel Johnson are all being linked with moves away from Deepdale.

Rangers have been pursuing Daniel Johnson for some time, with one bid – £1.5million in four payments – rejected according to the LEP.

Their Old Firm rivals Celtic want Davies according to the Daily Record, though Preston have allegedly demanded £10million from Sheffield United for the defender.

Now, boss Alex Neil has told Lancs Live that he is ‘99% sure’ that nobody will leaving North End today, meaning Celtic and Rangers will have to look elsewhere – though Preston will know that Davies and Johnson will be able sign pre-contract agreements with the Scottish giants in January.

“Not at this moment, but you never say never,” said Neil when asked about more incomings. “If anyone leaves, and I’m 99% sure they won’t, we will need to replace them,” he added.
