According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing former Preston winger Adam Reach.

It’s stated that Reach is on Rovers’ radar having been identified as a key free agent target with his Sheffield Wednesday contract ending yesterday.

Reach’s wage demands were though to be a problem for Blackburn, but there’s now a chance he ends up at Ewood Park after all.

Reach is no stranger to life in Lancashire as he spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Preston, becoming a fan favourite.

The 28-year-old joined on loan from Middlesbrough, bagging four goals and three assists in 36 outings under Simon Grayson.

Preston would have loved to keep Reach permanently in the summer of 2016, but they were blown out of the water when Wednesday coughed up a huge £5million fee.

Reach came back to Deepdale to score a dramatic last-gasp equaliser for Wednesday in December 2016, smashing home from close range in his first trip back to North End.

Many fans would probably love Reach to come back to Preston, especially in a left wing back role, but it looks like he could end up with rivals Rovers instead.

Let’s just hope there are no more dramatic goals against Preston if that move does happen.
