According to The Sun, Preston are looking to sign Burnley defender Jimmy Dunne on loan for the rest of the season.
It’s claimed that Dunne is now on North End’s radar for a potential deal until the summer, with a replacement needed for Patrick Bauer.
Bauer is out for the rest of the campaign with an achilles injury, and Dunne is allegedly emerging as a player to bring in.

Dunne is out of contract at the end of the season though, meaning Burnley would likely have to hand him a new deal in order to loan him out.
The 23-year-old Irishman was on the books of Manchester United from 2007 to 2016, but is now in the Burnley ranks.

He isn’t the biggest centre back of all time at 6ft tall, but he is a right-sided option that could slot in alongside Ben Davies.

He has previously had loan spells at Barrow, Accrington Stanley, Heart of Midlothian, Sunderland and Fleetwood Town, but may now need a Championship loan.
Dunne did make two Premier League appearances earlier this year, scoring one goal, and does seem to fit the profile Preston are looking for in terms of a Premier League loanee who may fancy staying, like Daniel Iversen and Jayson Molumby.
