According to Football Insider, Preston are seeking a last-gasp loan move for West Bromwich Albion defender Cedric Kipre.

As has often been the case this month, Blackburn Rovers are also thought to be interested in signing a North End target in Kipre.

We’ve had this with Ben Whiteman, Jarrad Branthwaite, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Anthony Gordon…Preston and Blackburn continue to be linked with the same targets.

Anyway, Sam Allardyce has allegedly given Kipre the green light to engineer talks with potential suitors ahead of the transfer deadline.

Kipre only joined West Brom from Wigan Athletic for £900,000 last summer, but has yet to make a single league appearance for the Baggies.

The 24-year-old centre back has played just three times for West Brom, and Allardyce is seemingly ready to let him go and play games.

This is the sort of signing we’d love to see Preston make. Kipre is a proven Championship defender who starred with Wigan, and could help solidify North End’s back line.

North End need a replacement for Patrick Bauer given that he is out injured for the rest of the season, and a loan deal for Kipre could make some sense.

This would fill Preston’s final loan spot though, and with Everton winger Anthony Gordon also wanted, North End could face a deadline day dilemma.
