According to Lancs Live, Alan Browne is yet to decide on whether he wants to stay with Preston beyond the end of his current contract.

It’s stated that there is real interest from clubs in the Premier League and Championship, with his versatility, age and contact situation appealing.

Browne unsurprisingly wants to play at the highest level, but has yet to make a decision on whether to stay or go, given his love for North End.

Browne has spent almost seven years with North End having arrived from Cork City in January 2014, and has now made more than 250 appearances for the club.

He has particularly thrived under Alex Neil, taking his game to another level whilst serving as one of his most trusted players, even being appointed club captain this season.

The Irish international has played in so many roles for Neil and always been a dependable player, which is no doubt making him a wanted man.

Browne turns 26 in April, and few would blame him if he felt he could now take another step forward in his career – particularly if a Premier League team come calling.

Still, losing Browne for nothing would sting, even after paying just £10,000 for him, and Preston will want to know his answer in the coming weeks as they consider selling in January before he walks away.
