According to the Irish Independent, Preston midfielder Alan Browne is set to sign a new deal with the club.
It’s claimed that Browne is agreeing a new three-and-a-half-year deal with Preston, committing his future to the club until 2024.
The deal will allegedly be confirmed inside the next 24 hours, marking a huge moment for Preston in this January window.

Preston entered the month with five key players out of contract at the end of the season; Ben Davies, Darnell Fisher, Ben Pearson, Daniel Johnson and Browne.
It looks like Davies, Pearson and Johnson will be on the move, whilst Fisher has yet to be offered new terms to stay at Deepdale.

Browne has looked like the most likely to stay for a few weeks now, with regular speculation that the Irishman would choose to renew.

The 25-year-old is club captain at Deepdale and has been a key man for Alex Neil for nearly four years now, so this new deal will be a huge boost to the Preston boss.
With Jayson Molumby signed and Ben Whiteman on his way, Browne can form an exciting midfield trio moving forward, and who knows – maybe his decision to stay could yet tempt others into doing the same.
