Preston fans have been left disappointed by Ben Davies’s lack of playing time at Liverpool, and the Reds have now rejected an approach from Sheffield United.
North End allowed Davies to complete a dream move to Anfield on deadline day in February, with the defender inside the last few months of his contract.
The deal saw Preston bring in £1.6million, a 20% sell-on clause and defender Sepp van den Berg on loan for what now looks like being 18 months.

Davies hasn’t yet played a competitive game for Liverpool, but has appeared in pre-season under Jurgen Klopp.
The 25-year-old’s future is up in the air. Liverpool have Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip back in action, Ibrahima Konate has signed and both Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams remain at the club.
Playing first-team football seems unlikely for Davies, and Dominic King from the Daily Mail has reported that a loan bid from Sheffield United has now been rejected.

The Blades fancied signing Davies from Preston last summer, but couldn’t get a deal done.
It’s no surprise that they are now back in the hunt for Davies, but a loan move seemingly isn’t in Liverpool’s plans.
If Davies does end up joining Sheffield United, he would be in line for a first return to Deepdale on the 26th of December.
