Preston have lost three key players over the last week, cashing in now before certain players leave for nothing.

Ben Pearson has moved on to Bournemouth in a surprise deal, whilst Ben Davies has completed a staggering switch to Liverpool.

Arguably the most shocking departure was that of Darnell Fisher, as he was sold to Middlesbrough for just £300,000 on Friday.

Fisher was set to be a free agent at the end of the season, and North End chose not to offer him a new deal, instead offloading him immediately.

Alex Neil’s first Preston signing back in 2017, Fisher has been a key part of the side for years now, but has now moved on to Boro.

On Saturday afternoon, Fisher started for Neil Warnock’s men in the 0-0 draw at Norwich City, winning the Man of the Match award for a superb display.

Fisher basically didn’t allow Todd Cantwell a moment of peace throughout the game, sticking tight to him throughout a committed performance.

Cantwell took to Instagram to react to Fisher’s performance, posting a photo of himself in action whilst joking that it was the furthest he managed to get away from Fisher all day.

Given that Preston didn’t bring in a new right back to replace Fisher, fans will miss him anyway – but seeing the notorious wind-up merchant immediately take another victim in Cantwell will make his exit hurt even more.
