There was even one bizarre moment when WWE commentators starting speaking about Jermaine Beckford’s Wembley hat-trick in 2015 as Barrett made his way to the ring.
Barrett is a huge North End supporter and he couldn’t resist showing it at WrestleMania, WWE’s biggest event of the year.
The former wrestler took to Twitter to post a photo of his PNE cufflinks as he celebrated the derby day victory, calling North End the ‘kings of Lancashire’.
Barrett was part of a panel previewing the first night of WWE’s extravaganza and he couldn’t pass up the chance to show his love for PNE.
Barrett was even seen on Twitter attempting to convert former WWE broadcaster Sudu Shah into a PNE fan.
It’s clear that, even many, many miles away in the States, Barrett had PNE close to his heart on Saturday and he celebrated in style after watching his beloved North End sweep Blackpool aside.
