Analyst Steve Eyre has praised Preston North End striker Will Keane whilst even comparing him to ex-Manchester United ace Dimitar Berbatov.
PNE were in top form on Friday night, hammering Coventry City 3-0 away from home.
Sure, North End have been Coventry’s bogey team for a long time, but few expected such a comprehensive victory.
Emil Riis and Will Keane had PNE 2-0 up inside 20 minutes before a Bobby Thomas own goal made it 3-0.
North End saw out the game to claim a fourth win in the last five Championship games, strengthening the push for the play-offs.
Will Keane praised after PNE win
This was a real team performance and BBC Radio Lancashire analyst Steve Eyre praised a ‘brilliant’ display.
Eyre analysis is usually spot on and he went with striker Keane as his Man of the Match after his 12th goal of the season.
Eyre suggested that Keane’s touch was similar to that of Dimitar Berbatov, which is huge praise for any striker.
Berbatov’s touch and technique is the stuff of legend and Keane will surely love being spoken of in the same sentence as the Bulgarian legend.
“Well, it’s difficult because, throughout the game, each and every single player was the man of the match, honestly, in different spells. He didn’t complete the 90 but it would be Will Keane for me; I thought his touch was like Berbatov at times!” said Eyre.
This will be an even bigger compliment to Keane given his Manchester United ties.

Keane was emerging at United during Berbatov’s time leading the line and will have watched him first-hand in training.
Keane’s Premier League debut even came alongside Berbatov as United lost 3-2 to Blackburn Rovers back in 2011.
Berbatov scored twice in that game and Keane will have certainly tried to take some aspects of Berbatov’s game into his own.
Keane has been an outstanding addition at Deepdale, providing an experienced centre forward for North End to build around in the final third.
Keane’s technique, movement and link-up play has been fantastic to watch and whilst those Berbatov comparisons are pretty lofty, North End fans are absolutely loving seeing Keane’s second spell with the club.
