Chris Kirchner continues to chase a deal for Preston North End – and has set tongues wagging by flying into England today.
The American businessman was keen on buying Derby County earlier this season but pulled out back in December.
The co-founder and CEO of American logistics company slync.io, Kirchner has dabbled in sports like ice hockey and golf over in the States.
Kirchner remains keen to buy a football club and has turned his attention to Preston this year.
Kirchner has attended Preston games, watching North End from American and looked around the club’s facilities ahead of a bid.
Early April may be the time that big takeover news arrives, but Kirchner has set Preston fans into overdrive today.
Earlier this morning, Kirchner posted a photo flying over Manchester, remarking about the sunny day in the North West.
The natural thought process is that Kirchner, who has been based in Texas and San Francisco, would only be around the North West because of Preston.
That could be face to face talks over the takeover deal or even more visits around the facilities – or maybe Kirchner just fancies a tour of the North West.
Either way, Kirchner was inundated with Preston fans welcoming him to the region and hoping that it’s to finalise that takeover move.
We would imagine news will be coming very soon, and it will be fascinating to see if today’s trip to England bring any updates as Kirchner closes in on North End.
