Preston North End could now turn to SC Cambuur’s Alex Bangura as the search for a new left wing back goes on.
PNE are in desperate need of another left wing back before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.
Robbie Brady signed a new contract but picked up an injury early into pre-season and will miss the start of the new campaign.
Fans would love to see Alvaro Fernandez return on loan from Manchester United but that doesn’t appear to be in his plans.
Youngster Kian Best impressed in pre-season but throwing him into regular Championship action would be a bold step.
Ryan Lowe has now admitted to Lancs Live that he needs a left wing back this month even with Best showing real potential.
An intriguing rumour has now emerged with Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph claiming that PNE and Swansea City have both shown a real interest in signing SC Cambuur ace Bangura.
Joseph claims that Bangura is interested in a move to England having already been linked with Middlesbrough.

Who is Preston North End target Alex Bangura?
Bangura hails from Sierra Leone but moved to the Netherlands at a young age.
After starting out with De Rotterdamse Leeuw, Bangura joined the ranks of Rotterdam’s biggest side, Feyenoord.
Bangura wasn’t able to break through with Feyenoord and moved onto the Cambuur development setup as a teenager.
Bangura was a winger in his formative years but has now become a left back and left wing back over in the Netherlands.
A Sierra Leone international with five caps to his name, Bangura has shown his attacking ability having hit five goals and 10 assists in 110 Cambuur games.
24-year-old Bangura has exceptional speed and has been a threat when carrying the ball up the left flank.
That’s the kind of talent PNE would love to add, replacing that driving quality Fernandez provided last season.
Beating Swansea and Middlesbrough won’t be easy but Bangura’s speed and attacking play makes him the kind of signing we would love to see North End make.
