Preston are in the market for a new winger before Monday’s transfer deadline, and Everton ace Anthony Gordon is one potential target.

North End are lacking natural wide men at the moment, with Scott Sinclair and Tom Barkhuizen needing some help on the flanks.

Seani Maguire and Brad Potts have been used out wide, but having another natural option out wide for the second half of the season would make sense.

One target is Everton talent Anthony Gordon, with Football Insider reporting that Preston had opened talks about a loan deal for the 19-year-old.

The 19-year-old looks to be a major talent, but has only managed 87 minutes of Premier League action this season across three appearances.

So what’s the latest on Gordon? Well, he was named on Everton’s bench for the 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United on Saturday, but didn’t come on.

That could go either way for Preston; that he was named on the bench could show that he is still in the plans, but his lack of playing time may be a boost for North End.

Everton could offload another winger though. Fabrizio Romano claims that Toffees ace Bernard is in talks over a move to Dubai with Al-Nasr, depriving Carlo Ancelotti’s squad of a wide man.

The Liverpool ECHO claim Gordon could still go if Everton bring in another attacker, meaning Preston are now waiting for news from the United Arab Emirates on Bernard’s future as deadline day approaches.
