According to The Sun, Brentford are considering a summer move for Accrington Stanley attacker Dion Charles.
It’s claimed that the Bees are looking for their next striking star, with Ivan Toney’s future a little unclear amid major Premier League interest.
Accy talent Charles appears to be on target for Brentford, with Hull City also interested in the attacker though he could be out of their range budget-wise.
Charles, 25, has been in sensational form this season, smashing 17 goals in 37 for Stanley, becoming one of League One’s top attacking threats.
Capable of playing up front or on either flank, Charles has shown great movement and comes alive inside the box, often scoring from close range whilst posing a threat on either foot.
The Northern Irish youth international was born in Preston but was forced to start his career with Blackpool and AFC Fylde rather than with North End.
Charles is now proving that he is ready for a move to North End, and we have flagged his name up a number of times, even being told last season that Charles was on the Preston radar.
Brentford have arguably the finest recruitment set up in the Championship, and seeing them pick out Charles as a potential signing is a real indication of his quality.
If Preston don’t move for Charles soon, they may live to kick themselves, as the born-and-bred Prestonian could instead head elsewhere despite seeming ideal for North End.
