Preston are still hunting for a new striker with just a couple of days of the transfer window to go, and Colby Bishop is now another name being linked.
Connor Wickham has been on trial over the last week, with the former Crystal Palace centre forward looking to earn a contract.
Outside of Wickham, it’s unclear whether North End will find a striker, with loan target Liam Delap now likely to stay at Manchester City.
There are now conflicting reports over a potential move for a local option, with Accrington Stanley’s Colby Bishop linked.
Football Insider claim that Preston are lining up a bid for Bishop before the deadline, joining Huddersfield Town and Peterborough United in the race.
They have since added that Peterborough have failed with a six-figure bid, whilst talkSPORT’s Jason Bourne claims that Accrington want a fee of £1.5million.
Don’t get too excited though – Lancs Live’s George Hodgson, one of the most reliable North End sources out there, has claimed that Bishop isn’t on Preston’s radar.

The 24-year-old has hit 12 goals in each of his two full seasons at Accrington, having been plucked from non-league Leamington in 2019.
Bishop has scored once in six games this term, and his stature and rise non-league may remind some of Jordan Hugill, although Bishop isn’t quite as athletic.
We’re inclined to believe Lancs Live on this one, especially as Football Insider have thrown Preston’s name into the mix for a number of players this summer who aren’t actually on the radar.
