Leicester City are now ready to axe former Preston North End goalkeeper Daniel Iversen in the final month of the transfer window.
That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, who claim that Iversen is now considered ‘surplus to requirements’ at Leicester.
Iversen ended last season as Leicester’s first-choice stopper ahead of Danny Ward.
Yet with new boss Enzo Maresca seeking to build a promotion-winning side, he has already made a goalkeeping move.
Leicester have snapped up Brondby goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and he looks set to become their first-choice stopper.
One Danish goalkeeper in may now mean one Danish goalkeeper out with Iversen allegedly available.
It’s claimed that Leicester are willing to sell Iversen for £5million with Maresca happy for him to go.
The report adds that Stoke City made a loan offer for Iversen but Leicester rejected that approach.
Iversen first joined PNE on loan back in January 2021 under Alex Neil, the current Stoke boss.
A reunion was considered but won’t be happening now as Stoke have instead signed Bournemouth stopper Mark Travers on loan.

It’s unclear just where Iversen could end up now, but any Championship club would be very lucky to have him.
Iversen was simply exceptional during 18 months on loan at Deepdale, winning the club’s Player of the Year award for the 2021-22 season.
Iversen’s shot-stopping was unbelievable but some managers may be put off by his distribution in the modern game.
PNE certainly won’t be back in for Iversen given the hefty price tag and the fact that Freddie Woodman continues to shine.
We can imagine that Championship clubs will be flocking around Iversen though and it wouldn’t be a surprise if PNE ended up having to face Iversen this season.
