Former Preston hero Joe Garner is set for a return to England, with a move to reunite with Simon Grayson at Fleetwood Town now imminent.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke has taken to Twitter this morning to claim that Garner is all set for a move to Fleetwood after leaving APOEL Nicosia.
Garner headed off to Cyprus to play for Mick McCarthy, but the former Ireland boss lost his job quickly and ended up at Cardiff City.

Garner stayed with APOEL, and after a strong record of nine goals and two assists in just 15 games, he has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Some Preston fans wondered whether Garner could end up back at Deepdale; he was a hero in his first stint at Deepdale, smashing 57 goals in 151 outings for North End.
Garner got to live out his dream, playing for his boyhood club and even scoring one of the greatest goals in the club’s history with a stunning volley against Rotherham United.

At 33 though, Garner just isn’t what North End need right now, and a move to League One is probably a sign that he isn’t of the required standard anymore.
This move to Fleetwood of course means that he will now reunite with boss Grayson, who managed him at Preston for three years.
Garner also joins up with his former Preston captain Tom Clarke once again, with a real North End reunion now in place on the Fylde Coast.
